Review of Never Back Down (2008) by Kj P — 10 Jan 2010
A modern day version cut and paste job which have come before particarly the classics such as Rocky and the Karate Kid however with all the glossy camera work, mediocre sound track which most of it sounds like they had been borrowed from primetime MTV broadcasts, this is very bland but still entertaining stuff in which only fans of these kind of movies would appreciate.
Not only is really empty in substance but also the charcters are really wooden, seen them before in other similar stories types, dialogue is so thought free to say the least, I will admit that I bought it as it was going cheap and this type of movie I normally would not go out of my way to watch.
I will admit the best moments were when the main character is receiving the Martial Arts training and also in classic tradition the movie reminds everyone who didnt know that Martial Arts is about peace and harmony and not being able to beat someone up in a stylish way.
The finale fight scene was pretty good stuff as well, it's too bad that you had to sit through the rest of the bland effort of this Sport Drama in order to get to it.
