Review of Network (1976) by James P — 07 Oct 2009
Paddy Chayefsky's writing strategy is to have characters shout at each other a lot to create drama, and then make some profound observation about television, politics, society, etc. Every frame is mired in the 70s, so image-wise it fails to resonate today.
This movie tries to do to much and only succeeds about half the time.
