Review of Network (1976) by Andrew L — 18 Aug 2010
At one point during the Network it felt as if it facetious to try and critique it in anyway. I was resigned to the a five star rating and I wouldn't be able to fight it, even as much as I think 5 star ratings are generally meaningless.
it's plain pointless to critique movies sometimes especially when they're so close to perfection and ridiculously ahead of their time. That's not even to mention the performances and/or any other aspect that any common film would be rated for that Network surpassed any other common film on without even requiring a mention as to all the other aspects that separates this from any other film.
I'll quite happily read criticisms of Network and that's fine if people do, I won't react defensively over it like some fanboy lashing out cos you don't like LOTR, I'm safe in the knowledge that you either have relatives that work for a network or you need to maintain you're schtick for flying in the face of popular opinion, either way it's fine to be wrong sometimes.
You cannot deny this movie, bad luck for trying, and that's got nothing to do with me.
