Review of Network (1976) by Brian C — 05 Sep 2011
This is the greatest screenplay ever written. A merciless satire of everything wrong with TV and society in general that is as darkly hilarious as it is so true that it's disturbing. It was made in the 70's, and the fictional story practically came true as it aged.
Real life proved its points. The dialogue in Network has little competition as far as rhythm, literacy, and overall wit goes. I could watch this over and over, and it's a perfect example of why I love 70's movies.
One of the five best movies I've seen.
