Review of Network (1976) by Matt M — 05 Jun 2013
Lumet's satire on television and the degrading effect of mass media on people is so powerful that its fearless message still can't help but resonate profoundly to this day. Paddy Chayevsky's screenplay is fearless and praiseworthy, and the great cast helps the force of the film by delivering some amazing performances, particularly Peter Finch as the deranged news anchor, whose rants will forever feed the anger and frustration of unhappy generations and aficionados of conspiracy theories.
