The concept of the movie was interesting, but the logistics weren't there. time? money? speed? apparently all were relative and malleable in this universe - vee has less than 2 minutes to find a dress and try it on and somehow manages to search the lower part of the store, ask an employee where to go, get to the right floor and search THERE as well, talk to ANOTHER employee, who then has to go look for the dress, and still she has 30 seconds left to put on the actual dress.

during the motorcycle scene they flew past watchers fast enough to affect their hair and clothes, and immediately afterwards their mph is shown to only be 35. maybe i'm too analytical, but things like those cheapen a movie to me.

aside from that, my only other gripes with the movie have to do with what the plot turned out to be and the characters themselves. I was expecting action and excitement, which I got to a degree (although nothing really original), but the movie focused a lot more on ~romance~ than seemed necessary.

there was zero character development past vee deciding to join the game in the first place and I never really felt any attachment to the characters as they were all very generic and trope-y. you know, you've got the shy (but beautiful) girl with an over the top best friend who gets all the guys, with a dash of unrequited nerdfriend love (seriously what does a weird forced non-love triangle add to the story? why can't he just care about her because she's his friend?) and a convenient hot and sensitive guy who develops enough feelings for a girl in a few hours to be willing to die for her.

nothing new, nothing interesting. and what was with her brother? I don't understand why that was added to the movie if they were never going to expand on it. I did like the soundtrack though lol.
