Review of Nerve (2016) by Anthony K — 12 Oct 2016
Serviceable teen thriller that plays like a mashup of The Purge and Cheap Thrills, while managing - very surprisingly - to be better than both. This would probably be a one star movie if not for the charismatic lead actors and a few truly thrilling stunts (I could barely watch that motorcycle scene) - but they're there, the film looks good and moves at a brisk clip, and is disposably effective entertainment.
