Review of Nerve (2016) by Compi24 — 19 May 2017
With "Nerve," "Catfish" co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman re-team to deliver yet another cautionary tale of cyber persuasions, and while the film itself might not entirely stick the landing with its thoroughly inconceivable climax, the movie's prior moments generally hold up pretty well.
In fact, I would go so far as to say that "Nerve's" first two-thirds is actually pretty captivating, thanks in no small part to some sleek production design and a generally profound sense of timeliness.
If you can get past some of the narrative conveniences and eye-roll moments that run rampant in the film's third act, you might actually have a pretty decent time with this one.
