Review of Neon Maniacs (1986) by Rob O — 23 Nov 2008
Neon Maniacs has all the potential to be a balls out monster/horror film but comes off as boring and silly. It was almost like a poor mans Hellraiser with hillbilly cenobite rejects that couldn't make the cut.
Good make-up on the monsters but no real good gore effects, nothing stands out and we get no real explanation as to why a group of ghouls live in the golden gate bridge in San Fran and come out at night to kill people.
I'm all for horror cheese and a film that boasts monsters on a killing spree should be something I'd salivate at to watch but I wasn't feeling this one, it didn't deliver on the goods. Great idea, weak execution.
