Review of Nénette (2010) by Harrison W — 22 Jul 2012
You'd think a French doco about a 40-year-old orang-utan in Paris would be quite fascinating, but actually it was a bit dull. Turns out 40-year-old orang-utans don't do much, and despite appearances they might not even be depressed or sad, because it's hard to work out what mood they're in.
Doesn't really make for an engrossing film, but at least it was short. And now I've probably somewhat redressed the balance of my film-watching containing actual primates versus films in which humans dress up as primates.
