An exceptional performance from Jodie Foster. Human upbringing in an unusual story.

Based on a true story I believe. This film is an intelligent examination of a layed back doctor (Charismatic Liam Neeson) and his discovery of Nell (Oscar nominated Jodie Foster), a woman who was raised in the forest with no human relations except her speech-impaired mum.

Its a story of emotion, of acceptance, and above all humility and love.

Repeated viewing definately makes you appreciate all the little details in this, will make you cry, make you smile, make you in awe of Jodie Foster and her acting talent. Also Liam Neeson is easy to warm up to as the caring doctor. This truly is a film not to be missed, still watching it last night again makes me realise that this is an undeniable underrated classic. Deserves praise and credit where credits due.

So innocent theres a few memorable scenes in this that warm the soul. Nell is the epitome of innocence, being brought up by a speech inpaired mother is a factor. But her child like ways, joy and trusting nature is a pleasure to take in. I didn't like the young men in the bar taking advantage of her as she imitated them. Was glad Liam Neeson intervened, he plays a good man in this.

Wonderfully directed and superb acting not to be missed on any account.
