1991 with the release of Nekromantic 2 (The Return Of The Loving Dead in America). Making the now 28 year old director about as popular as references to the Holocaust in his home country. Monika (Monika M) after reading about Robert in the papers decides to dig up his corpse starting at the point Nekro 1 finishes. This scene is filled with fairytale quality. Special attention is paid to birds and other wildlife watching Monika perform her strenuous task. Mark (Mark Reeder) who does voiceovers in porn movies this time completes the love triangle. (Nice work if you can get it). They meet after Monika has had a long and again distorted slo mo sex scene with Robertsâ??s corpse. However unable to achieve climax she is violently sick.. An unsatisfactory courtship between Monika and Mark ensues during which Monika decides she must dispose of Robertsâ??s corpse tearfully hacksawing it in the bath.

The film concludes with one of cinemas most shocking set pieces. Whilst making love to Mark, Monika produces a hatchet. She decapitates him replacing his head with that of Roberts. Drawing a tourniquet around Mark's still erect penis, blood pumping everywhere she finally reaches her climax.

It was probably due to this scene that in June 1991 Munich police seized a print of Nekromantic 2. On the eleventh day of screening they declared it was glorifying violence. Not only was the director facing a prison sentence but also the projectionist for showing it. The police issued a warrant for the negative but were unable to locate it. Although the movie still thankfully survives, public screenings (to my knowledge) are still banned in Germany. If the negative had been found it would have been destroyed. Startling similarities can only be made of Nazis burning books during the war.
