Review of Neighbors (2014) by Danburrito — 13 Jul 2016
Though its final act loses steam and the vulgarity is a tad overdone, Bad Neighbours' talented cast and mostly funny script are enough to keep things afloat. Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne were as funny as ever, while Zac Efron displays a surprising range of comedic gifts.
The jokes, while sometimes overly crude, are often hilarious, and the film makes the most out of its solid premise. During the last third or so, however, it grows a bit tiresome. It kind of abandons its themes about the anxieties of getting older and starts to feel slightly repetitive.
Still, all complaints aside, Bad Neighbours is a fun battle-of-the-ages comedy that should please Seth Rogen fans- though it's certainly not for the easily offended.
