Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Shane V — 18 May 2016
Initial reactions, super positive with SOME trepidation. Of course on first viewing it's not gonna be better than the first. It's a comedy sequel, the original was a fresh, out-of-nowhere surprise. But this for sure isn't what the original captured. However, it subverted my expectations in other ways.
I didn't feel Chloe Mortez got enough to do to really make her character as fully formed as Zac Efron's Teddy. I liked their overall conceit for how things went down. It played both sides of the coin and retained the raunchy yet sweet natured charm of the original. Do I LOVE it, like I do the original? No. But it was truly funny and potentially funnier on repeat viewings.
