Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Ismaira R — 20 May 2016
"Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" is the sequel to the acclaimed prequel starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron as feuding neighbors who try to one-up each other and wreak havoc on each other. In the sequel, Seth Rogen is trying to sell his house but there is a 30-day escrow period in which the new buyers can rescind the purchase if they find fault with the house.
A new sorority, Kappa Nu, lead by the feisty Chloe Grace Moretz, moves in next door and threatens to halt the sale in its tracks. Rogen teams up with former rival Efron in an effort to stop the sorority.
This film doesn't have clear message or direction. It claims to be about feminism but doesn't effectively address this topic. The humor is scatological, and this installment represents a huge step down for the franchise.
I'm all for puerile sexual humor, but in this film it serves no purpose. I was exasperated at the thought of one more dildo joke. This franchise has lost the bite from the first film and has devolved into pointless sexual humor ------------------------------------------------- C+.
