Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Jon C — 21 May 2016
It's not necessarily better than the previous installment but still so full of laughs, deep, meaningful social commentary and raunchy fun.
Mac and Kelly are putting their house up for sale but only have 30 days in escrow for the buyers to completely inspect it.
Things aren't made any easier when a sorority named Kappa Nu led by Chloe Moretz as Shelby takes up residence next to them.
This is all due to a sudden realization that sexism exists in college given that fraternities by guys are only allowed to throw parties, so this new sorority decides to strike back at society's expectations of them.
These kind of social gatherings see women as hard partygoers and to act more promiscuous but Shelby wants to try to change how everyone else sees them.
This turns into another battle of the sexes: parenthood vs. sisterhood although the film doesn't detract away from what growing up is all about, sooner or later you move past what fun you had, everyone still wants to find value within themselves, and despite being a parent the best you can do is try which itself makes a huge difference.
Zac Efron's Teddy is eye candy-galore for the ladies plus he gets more of a developing arc this time seeing as life is passing him by along with his youth.
If they make another one then they better get really creative.
