Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Cattera Y — 01 Mar 2017
I'll keep this brief. There are a lot better movies out there than Neighbors 2, and there are a lot of worse movies out there.
The magic that Stoller was able to grab by the balls in the original between Effron and Rogen seems to have gone away for some reason. They feel like a couple that broke up in real life and is forced to work together against their will, or at gun point. Same thing with Dave Franco who's character actually has an important role in the story, but seems like he had to film all his scenes were filmed in a separate state and edited in.
Rose Byrne...is bae. Her and Ike Barenholtz are actually two standouts in this movie for me. Chloe Grace Moretz really struggles trying to shoulder the weight of this movie in my opinion, and her two friends are even more miscast than her somehow.
All in all, this movie will make you laugh more often than not, but feels like it was solely made to get my $15 again and dammit if I didn't give it to them. Touche Hollywood.
