Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Richard S — 06 Mar 2017
As a rule, most comedy sequels are to be avoided because they try and replicate the laughs of the first and fall flat on their faces. This one however wasn't too bad. The story is very similar to the first movie only this time swapping the fraternity for a sorority.
It's what you would expect with the usual mix of slapstick and gross out comedy and it works if you're in the mood for those kind of laughs. Where the film lost it's way a little was during the scenes where we discovered the grown up and serious lives of the fraternity boys from the first movie.
There is a semi attempt to create some drama but it didn't feel like a decent fit with the rest of the movie. If you enjoyed the first it's worth watching, for 90 minutes of laughs.
