Review of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016) by Argenis P — 23 Jun 2016
Most comedy sequels are flops, this one does not trump its prequel but it does not disappoint either in the hilarious/entertainment factor. It has its funny moments and the plot is pretty easy to swallow and entertaining. Looking closer though, in my opinion, I think they made the sorority girls seem especially.. hmm.. dense? I'm a dude and I even felt kind of bad for how they were portrayed, but it does seem like there is an unspoken rule in movies that the characters must have a below average level of common sense to further the plot, but let me make myself clear, I am not calling the girls in this movie stupid, I love CMG and the whole cast is phenomenal and HILARIOUS and I love what they stand for, maybe it is just because it has been a bit since I was 18..
ANYWAY, if you enjoy movies for what they are (entertainment), I believe, you won't be disappointed. It also has a non-subtle message of equality and sexism which is somewhat refreshing in a comedy, it was very well written in and wasn't beaten over your head to make sure you got the message.
Hilarious comedy, that has an important message and some strong YOUNG adult women standing up for themselves instead of following the pack. Go see it, the superstar cast owns and bring an extra pair of pants, you may wet them XD.
