Review of Need for Speed (2014) by Ian S — 08 Aug 2014
In a last attempt to save his struggling garage, blue-collar mechanic Tobey Marshall-who with his team skillfully builds and races muscle cars on the side-reluctantly partners with wealthy, arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster. Just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet looks like it will save the business, a disastrous, unsanctioned race results in Dino framing Tobey for manslaughter.
Years later Tobey wants revenge and wants to take Dino down in the high stakes De Leon race.
Cinematography was excellent making you feel part of the races sometimes changing a bit to much but the directors refusal for CGI gave the element of danger. Maybe leaving it open for a sequel (like many of the incarnations of the game).
