Review of Ned Kelly (2003) by Matthew H — 01 Apr 2008
Too many people have bagged this film unfairly and not enough people have bothered to see it. Sad, because this is a solid Australian film we should be proud of. It's not the greatest film ever made, but for a retelling of the famous Ned Kelly story, this has got to be the best one yet.
It captures the era beautifully, boasts excellent cinematography and Heath Ledger is very good as Kelly - hell, even Orlando is ok. Give it a go, and be open minded. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
