Review of Nebraska (2013) by Paul B — 23 Aug 2014
Director Alexander Payne ("The Descendants" and "Sideways") proves again that he has really good tastes in the movies he make like the soundtrack, the performances of the cast, and the cinematography. The cinematography is this film's background while the performances of the cast creates a tone that sounds like family with the soundtrack adding more depth into the really good feeling that a viewer would call this one of the best feel-good films of all time. While those techniques of forming good feelings are praisable, the performances of the two leads Dern and Forte catch the most attention of their acting creating a good father-son relationship, with Squibb supporting as the motherly character.
