Wow. I had heard that the film was spectacular, but it seems to me that Bruce Dern's acting is the only worthwile part of the film. I thought that Will Forte's acting, as much as I like him, felt forced and ingenuine.
Overall the film seemed lackluster and not nearly as resonant as intended. The first 10 minutes seem like an absolutely terrible B-movie and not the excellence I would have expected from Alexander Payne.
