Review of Nebraska (2013) by Hugo P — 26 May 2014

Nebraska is a really great film. Fantastic. It's filmed in Black and White, and it looks absolutely beautiful. The cinematography in this movie is outstanding. The performances are top notch. Bruce Dern is great, so is Will Forte as the son.

The chemistry between Will Forte and Bruce Dern is really good. You really believe they are father and son, and you believe the son cares about the father. Bob Odenkirk is known for his Breaking Bad role as Saul, the lawyer.

I watched Breaking Bad, and I have to say that he is great in this movie. You don't see Saul you see the character that Bob Odenkirk portrays, Ross, which is Will Forte's, David, brother. But the best part of the movie is June Squibb as Kate, Woody's, played by Bruce Dern ,wife.

She is hilarious in the role. She is the funniest part of the movie, she made me laugh with most of the things she said. This is the first movie by Alexander Payne and now I think he is one of the best directors, just from this movie alone.

This isn't just a comedy, it is also a drama. It has a lot of heart to it. I really liked how it can make me laugh and feel emotional in different scenes. It really handles the laughs and the dramatic moments really well.

The movie is slow and some people might not like it. I didn't really mind it. My complains, sometimes the movie could get boring. Not really boring, but it slows down with it's already slow pace.

Other than that I don't really see any problems with the movie; just a couple of nit picks here and there. I cannot wait until I buy it on Blu-Ray so I can watch it again. It is one of my favorites of 2013.

I can't go a perfect score, but I'm going pretty high, I'll go 4/5. Absolutely loved the movie, I would recommend it to anyone.
