Review of Near Dark (1987) by Andrew H — 21 Aug 2009
Hurt locker director Kathryn Bigelow took on the big boys and won with her first film, a cool little vampire flick. It's a smart, creepy, violent, funny, and modern movie that benefits from some wonderful performances, a stunning visual texture, and hip music.
The scene where the vampires terrorize a biker bar is a treat for horror fans, and "finger lickin' good.".
