Review of Near Dark (1987) by William E — 11 Sep 2009
It's official, Kathryn Bigelow is one of my favorite directors of all time. She's done some of my other faves like "point break" and "strange days". Anyway, besides that one awful cut when Kaleb met his friend at the beginning by his truck, this film was splendid.
I think it's a well told story about the human side of being a vampire which other films have touched upon from the same genre. I was psyched to see Adrian Pasdar act so well, along with Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton and Jenette Goldstein.
It really felt like a reunion party gone bad with the cast of "Aliens". A well done film. Kudos to Bigelow.
