Review of Near Dark (1987) by Mark O — 24 Jan 2010
I have no interest in seeing Twilight or any of it's ilk but this was a $.99 download and it had the distinction of being an early entry in the genre (1987) and it had Kathryn Bigelow as its director.
(She just lost in the Best Director category at the Golden Globes to a guy who made some film about blue people.) And we've always been fans of Lance Henriksen who was suitably creepy as the head blood sucker.
So, on a slow night, a mild thumbs up.
