Near Dark along with Fright Night were two of my favorite genre films growing up as a kid. Yes, I like the Lost Boys but its really not in the same class for me. Near Dark has possibly the greatest bar scene of all time with Bill Paxton absolutely killing it.
Its got some story issues in that you dont really buy Caleb and Mae's relationship but the movie is just glorious badassery with the likes of Lance Henriksen, Jenette Goldstein, and Bill Paxton. The film is well done in all other aspects.
Holds the test of time.
