Review of Near Dark (1987) by Michael C — 04 Mar 2011
Underrated modern rethinking of the vampire myth that was overshadowed upon it's release by The Lost Boys. The two could not be more different. Near Dark is gloomy, moody and stylised on the surface, but with a gritty, redneck heart underneath.
Also hosts fantastic performances from notable cult favourites, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein, and Lance Henriksen, and a fabulous turn from Jenny Wright.
