It's the worst bits of Top Gun, Iron Eagle and every other action flick blended together for another formula-driven, cliche-heavy military grunt movie. With a decent cast at it's disposal, it had potential to be something better, but you know you're wishful thinking when Charlie Sheen jumps off a bridge at the beginning of the movie for no particular reason.
