Review of Navajo Joe (1966) by Dee L — 10 Jul 2006
Burt Reynolds stars as a Indian in this 1966 spaghetti western setting out to get revenge for a bunch of outlaws killing his family... Including his wife and parents. As an added bonus, the local town pays Joe (Reynolds) to get rid of the outlaws.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
This is a very unforgiving western that was filmed entirely in spain and on an extremely low buget. The film does look older than it is... And on top of that, despite Burt giving an ok performance... The movie sort of suffers from a really lack of a quality supporting actor.
Furthermore, the movie could have went into more details about the outlaws wrong doing. It instead decides to go right for the action. However, do the unforgiving nature of this film, it's very much watchable and enjoyable if you ignore it's flaws.
6/10.
