What an incredible movie. It's over the top, it's violent, it's flashy, and most of all, it works! The montage of images may make you a bit dizzy, it may disturb, and may even offend, but this is a truly great piece of cinema.

No other movie has sparked such a debate of violence in cinema, and has caused such a divide between lovers and haters. Directed by Oliver Stone who rewrote most of Quentin Tarantino's original script, this controversial movie still to this day remains infamous for it's message and the extreme graphic violence.

But that shouldn't stray you away from watching it. It actually has an interesting love story in the center of all the carnage. These two are only killing because it's what they grew up with. They had very messed up childhoods and they lashed out in the only way they knew: violence.

Amidst all of the pain and suffering, they found love with each other. And their love isn't just a one night stand type of "love". No, their love is the kind that lasts forever, where love can overcome anything.

This is why the ending is gory yet touching at the same time. The acting is top notch. Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis both should have received awards for their performances. Only real actors do something out of the ordinary and take a risk with a role.

They captured the essence of Mickey and Mallory expertly. Natural Born Killers is without a doubt one of the finest pieces of moviemaking ever produced. For years to come it will be talked about, and I'm sure it won't be long until another murder is blamed on it.

It sets out to show us that we are far too obsessed with fame and celebrity, and in my opinion it does just that. The media makes celebrities out of criminals whilst people who deserve recognition go unnoticed.

Controversy aside, this is an excellent movie.
