It's one of those movies that you either get or you don't get. Oliver Stone has made a career of putting a mirror on society and showing the bad part of it. Our society has glorified violence to where it is cool, media does it's share as well.
This film does for violence what Cronenberg's Crash did with sex/pornography in film. It's a film everyone should see at one point in their life. Robert Downey Jr is worth the price of admission in this one.
