Review of Natural Born Killers (1994) by David W — 02 May 2011
Certainly one of the most disturbing films ever made. Oliver Stone's bitingly sardonic romp is a harrowing exploitation of violence in the media and cinema. Beneath the amoral, graphic exterior, is a bizarre, fascinating vision of the pained human heart. Many of the unsettling images are used to reveal heatbreaking past pains in the lives of the two killers as well as Tom Sizemore's character. Violence is not unexplained. It is born of hurt and evil.
Natural Born Killers is not for everyone, but for anyone who enjoys smart, unsettling satires and trippy filmmaking will appreciate Oliver Stone's masterpiece.
