Review of Natural Born Killers (1994) by Bradley W — 15 Jun 2012
Natural Born Killers glorifies violence and murder because society glorifies it, I mean every day the media shows almost nothing but killers and deaths, and that is the message behind this great Oliver Stone film.
Stone has really cooked up something great here, I mean it felt just so violent and dark that I knew that it had a great effect on me. It really makes us look at killers in a new light, and that has to do with the great script which shows so many different images and themes that makes me realize that everyone will have a different experience when watching this film, and thats incredible.
Its such a hyper and thrilling film as well, I mean this film feels like an adreneline rush with how fast some scenes go and how violent they are. The cast was good as well, I really loved Woody Harrelson and he was just perfect to play a mass murderer, and his scene where he is interviewed and says "the media is like weather.
Only its man made weather." That really got to me and made me think. I didn't find Juliette Lewis likable in this film. Others may have liked her and thats fine, but I just found her whiny and untalented in this film.
Robert Downey Jr, Tommy Lee Jones, and Tom Seizmore were all great and memorable. Natural Born Killers had a really great script that makes the audience think, and although the film has its boring moments and I didn't enjoy Juliette Lewis, this is still a great film and should be remembered for its interesting message.
