Various reviews warned me this was a violent film, and they were right, but thankfully this has substance, and does not fall into the category of glorifying said violence.

Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis are compelling as the lethal lovers Mickey and Mallory, who leave a murderous trail behind them as the film progresses.

The complexities of the two lead characters are effortlessly acted out by Harrelson and Lewis, and you can't help but feel drawn to them, that is how strong their performances are during this film.

Robert Downey Jr and Tommy Lee Jones are both very good in their supporting roles, each bringing their own unique charisma and energy which benefits all those around them.

There are some moments of dark comedy in this film, but also moments which give you reason for reflection, especially the observations about the mass media and their influence on modern society, because although this is set during the nineties, a lot of what it has to say remains relevant today.
