Review of Natural Born Killers (1994) by Camille L — 24 Aug 2013
Not sure how I feel about this one. On one hand it makes a loud and clear statement against media sensationalism and on the other, it becomes more about (hypocritically) sensationalizing the violent events. Of course it's an easy film to defend if you look at it from the perspective that it's pure satire, but of course there's a reason it spawned and influenced several killing sprees (I doubt full blame can be attributed to NBK - but there are always going to be parts to a whole).
The acting and cinematography are quite outlandish and in my opinion both absolutely horrible, but still interesting. Regardless of how one feels about the movie, I feel like it can be an important conversation piece albeit maybe not the best approach.
