I must be getting soft in my old age. Despite my aversion to Christmas and children, I actually found this predictable, made-for-TV-looking film frequently heart warming and even moving. There's much silliness in the plot, but given the tone of the film and the likability of the characters/actors, this can be forgiven.
Even the kids are great, with Bobby being a particular scene stealer. (what is happening to me?!?) I only wish Alan Carr had been in it more, he's hilarious whatever he does, which in this case is mostly just eating.
