Book of Secrets plays out a lot like the first film. It feels uninspired and lazy at times. The cast is pretty solid and the flimsy story has some enjoyable moments. It's more of the same, if you liked the first one, you'll like this one.
If you didn't, you can skip the sequel. It is shrouded in mediocrity, with some fun action and a memorable climax. The rest is unfortunately pretty forgettable. National Treasure: Book of Secrets gets 2/5 stars (C).
