Review of National Parks Adventure (2016) by R R — 05 May 2016
I've seen 20 IMAX films at my San Diego science theater, and by far, this was the worst one. The cinematography was so awful in this movie! Many of the scenes are taken after sunset and you cannot see anything! They follow three 20-somethings.
Several of the places in the film are NOT National Parks! Wyoming's Devils Tower (it's a National Monument), Martin Luther King statue in D.C. (it's just a memorial!), some ice cave they waste lots of time on (it's not a National Park, and they don't even mention where it is).
The cinematography at Bryce in Utah was extremely poor. They had the 3 people mountain biking very hard on fragile sandstone in Canyonlands NP in Utah (I believe this is illegal!). They had people in Yellowstone standing 15 feet from Buffalo (illegal!).
Then Robert Redford claims there are 13 National Parks in Utah where he lives. Baloney- there are 5! There are so many errors in this movie. It's so boring too. The 3 also climb Devils Towers NATIONAL MONUMENT in Wyoming which is considered totally disrespectful to the Native Americans in that area.
