Review of National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002) by Mike S — 27 Sep 2009
It's a film with very little ambition to rise above base, obvious humour . . . and it fully achieves its ambitions.
The Indian character is called 'Taj Mahal' which probably gives you a good idea of the level that you have to be prepared to work on to enjoy it.
If you find the idea of people eating dog semen amusing then it's definitely the film for you. Quite frankly, it is a reasonably amusing image therefore I'm probably the sort of idiot the film is aimed at.
I watched this film whilst drinking wine and I definitely seemed to get more into it as time passed. I therefore suggest that, if you choose to watch it, that you drink at least a bottle of wine before putting it on.
There's literally not much else to say about this film. I'll never watch it again and will soon have forgotten about the fact that it ever existed.
