Review of National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) by Stu Y — 20 Apr 2010
Although I will probably never get "Holiday Road" out of my friggin head after seeing this movie, it is still very funny. I miss the old days when National Lampoon actually made good comedy movies and not these absolutley horrid films they have been putting out lately.
Chevy Chase is great in this movie playing the average dad who wants to take the family to Wally World which is on the opposite side of the country. A 2 week road trip from hell folows and Clark (Chevy Chase) slips deeper and deeper into madness as nothing goes right from the very first day.
From accidently murderering his aunts dog, to pulling a gun on a security guard (John Candy) at Wally World this film makes for a good laugh.
