Review of National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) by Nicholas F — 10 Mar 2014
One of the greatest comedy classics of all time. National Lampoon's Vacation is tied with Christmas Vacation for being the best in the Vacation series. Chevy Chase is a legendary comic and he shines as the lovably foolish Clark Griswold as he drives his family cross country to Wally World in that God awful looking truckster.
Beverly D'Angelo is fantastic as Ellen and I think this movie has the best Rusty/Audrey duo with Anthony Michael Hall and Dana Barron. I also liked the major supporting cast of Randy Quaid as Cousin Eddie and John Candy as the kidnapped security guard.
Also, the ever beautiful Christie Brinkley is great as the sexy hot rod driver who seems to be following Clark across the country. This movie is a great comedy that is timeless and enduring.
