Its no secret that I love Chevy Chase movies from the 80s and this is my favorite of the Vacation series. Admittedly its crammed with stereotypes but that could quite easily be part of the joke, after all this was 1985.
Loads of cameos from comedy greats like Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane are great too. There are some great comedy moments including Clarkes sound of music dream sequence and the mistaken identity bit where the Griswalds impose on an old German couple they believe to be thier relatives.
Chevy Chase has kinda slipped into actor oblivion lately but I hope they decide to drag Clarke Griswold out for another Vacation sometime soon.
