Review of National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985) by Joshua M — 03 Mar 2013
This is likely one of my least favorite movies. I saw it on HBO one day when nothing else was on. I thought it had some good jokes toward the beginning, but after the first twenty minutes or so, I lost all interest.
It stopped being funny instantly. The rest of the film turned from European Vacation to European Locations as in let's see how many locations can we squeeze in. Not only that, but was it just me, or did any else get really sick of the word Griswold.
That's right. They say it so much that to me it's no longer a name. It's a word. And on top of that, their kids were unbearably annoying. Just listening to them talk is torture to my ears.
Thank goodness they replaced their actors in the next one. (And switched their genders) I hated this movie so much I turned it off halfway through.
