Review of National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985) by Mike E — 13 Aug 2017
European Vacation isn't a terrible sequel but it just doesn't hold up and get anywhere near being as good and the first movie. This movie does have some funny moments but they're mostly pretty corny jokes but they work sometimes.
Some jokes hit the mark and some kind of miss it and just make you chuckle. Not laugh out loud. The cast is pretty good. Chevy Chase and Beverly Diangelo return to their roles and the kids aren't bad.
They actually had some pretty funny moments. Overall European Vacation was able to make me laugh. It wasn't as funny or as good as the first movie. Some of the jokes felt like they were trying too hard to try to get you to laugh.
Some jokes were also corny. European Vacation isn't a terrible sequel. It's actually pretty amusing. B-.
