Review of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) by Jim D — 19 Jan 2014

Heavily entrenched in the 1980's mugging heavy style of comedy, the film mostly holds its own. Without the lens of nostalgia most likely won't find it laugh-out-loud funny, but it is amusing and moves at a steady enough pace that the audience is quickly moved from any setup that doesn't work to one that hopefully will.

If you haven't seen it, it's not required viewing by any means, but it is a decent distraction.
