Review of Narco Cultura (2013) by Jake T — 25 Nov 2013
Narco Cultura not only tells a particularly engaging story, but its stylistic execution is unique in a way that expands our understanding of how a film can be shot. Shaul Schwarz captures beauty in every scene no matter how brutal. He takes the audience deep into the heart of the Mexican/American Drug War despite the danger.
The film presents itself without bias allowing you to see the story in all its raw desolation. It does not give the easy answers that are expected. Instead it offers questions, which can be more potent. Questions worth asking. A film worth seeing. Narco is a testament to well produced filmmaking.
