Review of Narc (2002) by Dan G — 09 Jun 2010
Narc is a tough, dark and gritty cop thriller with excellent performances all round. The plot isn't overly original, in fact we have seen most of it before, but it's the excellent character development and superb ending that elevate this film above most cop films of recent times.
Jason Patric is excellent as the conflicted narcotics cop; he really should be offered more roles! Ray Liotta is equally as good as a tough nut cop with a serious agenda who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
A real throwback to tough 70's cop thrillers like The French Connection and Dirty Harry, definitely worth checking out, just be prepared for the ending which packs a serious wallop!
