Review of Napping Princess (2017) by Dawdlingpoet — 23 Nov 2021
This is a film with multiple plot lines, featuring numerous people/characters and so I found it a bit hard to keep track of things mid way through. I like the typically daydream aspect of it, a staple for many anime films.
Its main theme, I'd say, would be identity. I liked that there's talk of apps and with the tablet present, it very much had the feel of being quite up to date. If anything its a bit science fiction, with a car (or motorbike?) creature that appears able to travel itself using a newly discovered form of sat nav, to the main characters delight.
I liked the imagined land and while I got a bit lost in the details of what was going on, it was certainly entertaining. The real life situations were less interesting but the film is general was alright.
A nice bit of imaginary fun, I suppose, as these films often are. I enjoyed it overall.
